Poundstretcher is the UK’s leading discount retailer of home products. Poundstretcher had a multi-vendor fleet of print devices that had unmanaged output across their head office, distribution centre and retail stores. There was no proactive support for break-fix and consumables such as toner.

The postage process was costly and time-consuming. A large proportion of their customer base require paper copies of their monthly bills, with over 4,500 letters sent every month. The postage process took six people three days to print, stuff and send the customers’ bills.
Nustream implemented a multi-vendor Managed Print solution that allowed greater control over document management costs. A combination of Xerox print technology partnered with Equitrac cost accounting and management software meant that Poundstretcher Head Office could access cost accounting right down to the user.
Devices are now proactively managed, increasing uptime of devices – critical for fast turnaround of pricing changes within stores.
The solution has resulted in Poundstretcher saving over 30% on previous annual print spends and a 19% reduction in print volume due to the elimination of uncollected prints. In addition Poundstretcher have seen an increase in uptime of devices and a reduction of staff (including IT specialists) dealing with print-related issues such as relaying support calls and placing orders for toner.
