Traditionally suppliers and purchasers aimed to get the best deal on equipment costs but gave little focus to operating costs like consumables (paper, toner) service and IT administration. This is a real problem, as more than two-thirds of the total cost of ownership (TCO) of a printer or copier is related to the running expenses rather than the initial capital cost.
We challenge the traditional model of how printers and copiers are sold and supported and offered a better alternative. By introducing this new approach, we were able to offer customers the opportunity to reduce their overall cost by combining the purchase of equipment, consumables and service.

Director Steve Shannon has spent 12 years at Xerox as a Corporate Account Manager and worked on print solutions for BT, Microsoft and Credit Suisse First Boston.
In recent years, Steve helped launch Xerox Managed Print Services, developing and growing channel partner Managed Print Services (MPS) business. He has a rounded view of the Managed Print service market place spanning 10 years working with Corporate to SME customers.
Steve set up nustream to fill a gap in the market supporting small and medium sized companies to develop and print strategy that would support key business processes, make users more productive and reduce cost. Too often print is fragmented with one part of the business looking after desktop devices and the other larger multifunctional machines or photocopiers. By applying the same processes and structure used in corporate clients with a common sense approach and local support, nustream can deliver.
